I want to put in my vote for the 50mm f1.4 as your first lens. I bought my k10d body and the Pentax 18-250 (same lens as Tamron) at the same time. Within a week, I bought the 50mm 1.4, and that has been the lens that is on my camera the most. It is so versatile indoors and out. IMO, don't waste your money on a zoom you are going to sell back. Get the 50/1.4 because you'll keep it forever. Get something like the 18-250 once you have saved up.
