HANIMEX AUTO ZOOM 75 ~ 300mm f.5.6 MACRO

I'm pretty new to photography and I bought a Hanimex Auto Zoom 75 ~ 300mm f.5.6 Macro lens for my Pentax K10D and I can't get it to mount. The Hanimex lens is a PK mount and my camera came with a Sigma 28-90mm f3.5 lens that is a PK mount which works just fine so I'm confused.

Take pictures of the end of the threads and post it up for others to see.... maybe we can spot something you can't...

On some lens the flange that protects the aperture lever is too big causing it to hit inside. You can grind it down or remove it completely. Should be only a couple of small screws holding it on. I had to remove one from a Kalimar PK mount lens.

Look into what bluestringer said, that'd be the easiest direction for now. Just be careful if you keep trying to put it in, you can scratch the graphite colored material and it'll be less pristine and pertiful! :P

Just want to double check before I do it...the flange bit that you're talking about is the black inner ring? I can see that bit is attached by two screws but I just want to be sure of what I'm doing first. Also will this damage the lens or the camera body in anyway either physically or the way it operates? Also will it affect picture quality?

The flange is there to protect the aperture lever. It will have no effect on the picture quality. I haven't had any problems with the lens I removed it from.
