Filter on DA 12-24

I'm considering a Hoya pro digital cpl. I've got three at smaller sizes and find them excellent.

However would a filter on the da 12-24 cause vignetting? I notice there is no window for filter adjustment in the lens hood.

No discussion's on the pro's & con's of filters. Please

A CPL will cause uneven coloring in the sky on a DA12-24

No need for a CPL on this lens. It's better in post processing, boosting sky color to darker blue.

Very common issue, physical limitation.

Don't discount a CPL immediately on the 12-24. Polarisation varies across the sky in relation to position of the sun (relative to the 'tog). There will be some instances where the effect will be hardly noticeable, if at all, others where it will be exaggerated. The more sky in the picture the more likely the effect will be seen. The example shown is, in my view, somewhat extreme. The CPL may still prove useful removing reflections from leaves, water, etc.

I agree with that. Polarizers can often be used with minimal issues in the 20 to 24 range and, on partly cloudy days, sometimes all the way to 12mm. Depending on the angle of the sun, polarizers can also be used in portrait orientation at 12mm as well.

When I owned a 12-24, I kept a polarizer on it all the time and rarely ran into trouble.
