Hi all, I am and have been for quite some time, trying to track down an original pentax case for the k50mm 1.2 pentax lens. I've had no luck finding a matching case, and am looking at other 'generic' pentax cases, ie: pentax hard cases that do not have a specific lens stamp. I've had a few misses from ebay purchases with cases either too small or much too big- can't seem to find anything that is a good fit. If anyone has paired their 50 up with an alternate pentax case, I'd love to know which one!

There was a dedicated hard case for the K50/1.2 (Pentax Part #33000). The case was optional and not included with the lens. I’ve never seen one and I’ll assume the case is pretty rare.

The A50/1.2 used a Pentax HB-90 hard case or a Pentax S70-70 soft case. You can still get the S70-70 new at B&H Photo. The K50/1.2 is the same size as the ‘A” version, so these are your best options. I use the S70-70 for my K50/1.2s.

Good info Phil, thanks for that.
For some reason, I object to the soft cases on older lenses- od I know.
I will look out for a Hb-90, thanks again!

I forgot to mention that there was also a K Series soft leather case that came in two sizes. The small one is perfect for the K50/1.2.
I have a couple in each size, but they are also hard to find so I have been using the newer S70-70 instead.
