Can someone tell me if the optics (especially the bokeh) on a Kiron 28mm f2 are the same as the far cheaper Vivitar-komine 28mm f2.8?

i would say no, but need some confirmation. The Kiron 28/2 seems taller than the Vivitar 28/2.8 CF.

No, they're completely different, I'm afraid. I've had both and kept the Kiron. I find the Bokeh of the Kiron much smoother and prefer it to the Komine.
