Originally posted by Biro I have 11 lenses for my two Pentax cameras... it'll be 12 once the new DA 50 f/1.8 arrives. Honestly, I can't imagine I'll need more lenses than that. But, I can imagine exchanging one, two or three lenses depending on what becomes available over the next couple of years. As most of you know my DA* 16-50, which has not failed me yet, remains suspect because of the SDM. Ditto the 50-135. And both are really heavy. If Pentax comes out with lighter, more reliable alternatives to both, I'd consider them. Also, while I have no complaints about my DA 55-300, if a 135-400 came out to match the 18-135, I'd consider it too.
Biro, you are missing the point, this is nothing to do with need...but everything to do with the thrill of the chase, the feel of superbly machined metal at your fingertips, the sensual feedback when you turn a well damped focus ring....this is camera porn, lust, not need.
