I own 14 (13 in my profile) split over 3 cameras. End of the week it might be 16 or 17.

Currently 235, but that will change in the next couple weeks. Your poll count doesn't go high enough. One member here had (until recently) more Fifties than I have lenses. It would be interesting to see if anyone tops 500.

I have somewhere around 30 something lenses. I need to inventory them...can't tell you you for sure even if my life depended on it! But some of them are dupes of my fav lenses that I wanted BU's of.

No idea anyone had that many. Tried to upgrade the poll but can't. Guess I should have made it go to 1000! But I thought for sure the most anyone may have is 200 lenses.

Not counted my FD lenses or my Mamiya MF ones ofr 645 and C220 as they rarely get an outing these days, 18 for Pentax I think, includes one Tamron Adaptall but not the other as I have neve put the damn thing on my Pentax. I obviously haven't got proper LBA!

I keep thinking of weeding out a lot of them....easy to think about, but it's damn hard to make yourself do, isn't it?

I wonder if Jim King will respond to this post. As I recall Jim has one of every lens Pentax ever made.

Up a little if something arrives within a fortnight; then down a bit (hopefully), maybe to the ~220 level. Of course, if I ever get a NEX, the sky's the limit!

Yes good question. An inventory sheet would help logging useage.

You can vote here if your a member Rio. As I said, had no idea anyone wanted that many lenses, except maybe a dealer. I thought it would be overkill going up that high.

How many lenses do you own?

Eventually after I test my lenses I would like to get down to low 20's or high teens for lenses including my dupe BU lenses.

The disposible beach zoom area is one that is kinda cluttered up in my lens collection. I got about 5 differnt cheap Pentax zooms for the beach ($49 - $100) and 3 cheap Tammy 70-300 zooms ($60 - $80). After I test some of my beach zooms (that are for leaving under the towel on the sand) I may get rid of those that are not as sharp as the other ones. But I'd still like 4 or 5 cheap beach zooms as BU's if one get wrecked or stolen. When first starting out in Feb buying lenses I didn't know much about them. So just bought anything that looked promising under $100 a pop for beach use. What I would like more of is clean 6 mp or higher beach bodies for $100- $120 or so. Only have 2 of them.

I "only" have 9 lenses, but have been considering getting a few new high-end ones (and get rid of the kit zooms and such).
One of my worries is, I don't know where to keep them safe: A couple of years ago, I lost a lot of gear to an earthquake and subsequent theft.

What precautions do you take? Do you keep your lenses in locked safes, fire-resistant boxes, cabinets or something similar? Or do you rely on insurance?

I'm over a dozen, but if you count used & useful that knocks several off the list. I keep thinking I'm about to donate several, but the main donation site is on the other side of a large town. Probably best I don't go there though, I'll come home with twenty
