I already have the 43 and I like it really well. I want to add the 21, for sure. If I ran into a big pile of money, I might pick up the 31. Tasha sold me her 70-210, that's on the way from India (God, please let it get here soon!). I've got some extension tubes on the way, but I'd eventually like to add a dedicated macro lens (either the DFA100, Tammy 90, or Sigma 105) at some point.

Once I get the 21, I may sell the Vivitar 28/2.8 that I already have, if there isn't a whole lot of differernce in perspective between the 2. I'll probably dump the 35 screwmount, as well As for my Sigma 28-70/3.5-4.5, I'm not sure if I'll hang onto it or not.

I figure for travel, the 21, 43, and 70-210 will make a nice, fairly compact kit. If I have the room, I might throw in the macro if I think I'm going to be using it very much (like a "back to nature" type of trip).

The 70 sounds enticing, but I'm not sure how much I'd actually use it, as I don't do much in the way of portraiture. If I was going somewhere and wanted a really lightweight kit, it might be worth getting. If I do get it, it'll be a good while down the road, as I want to get a new scanner for my negatives and slides, as well as a new body (K10 or K200).

If $2000 were to fall in my lap right about now, I could go ahead and pick up everything, with the exception of the 31 & the 70. That would be fun package to open. A little wishful thinking doesn't hurt every now and then.

Only three?

(1) FA*85/1.4

That was easy.

(2) A 50/1.2

Still pretty straightforward.

(3) Something wide, depends on what I'm doing. Could be the Super-Multi-Coated Tak 17/4 Fisheye. It could be the FA*24/2.0. And it could be the Super-Multi-Coated Tak 28/3.5. Then again, it could be the FA 31/1.8 Limited. I don't know that I could pick any one of those as 'always in the bag'.

My 3-prime set comprises 21/43/77.

I don't shoot film so FA or DA is not a big factor; reasons I chose these out of the six Limiteds:
21: I'd like one faster similar size but there's no other choice
31: Out of my price range
43: Chose it over the 40 for its faster speed, over the 35/50 combo to keep set to three
77: I'd be equally happy with a 70 iq-wise, but the beautiful sight of the 77's front piece of glass makes it worth the extra $
Hi Kguru,
good choice - got exactly the same!
regards from Germany
