M-28mm Lens...Which One

I am in the market for a pretty cheap landscape lens for my film cameras, so I've decided on a 28mm for my focal length.
The M-28mm seems to fit the bill, most reputable sites sell them in the $60-80 range (havent checked the bay).
Which one is generally more desireable, the f/2.8 or the f/3.5?
They both sell for about the same price, which is suprising considering the half stop difference in speed.
However, like I said, this will be a landscape lens so I don't expect to shoot more wide open than f/8.

F3.5 or f2 are safe bets.
F2.8 depends on maker, type...

The best value in a 28mm would be had from a Vivitar, Tokina, or Tamron. Optical quality is pretty consistently good at this focal length across the major camera makers and major 3rd-party lens makers. I would expect to pay about $25-$45 USD for a decent 28mm f/2.8 with standard K-mount (non-A contact).

...yes, despite being slower, it is the better of the lower-speed Pentax-M 28mm lenses. The f/2.8 was an inexpensive lens when new and actually sold for about 1/3 less than the f/2.5 Tamron back-in-the-day. The f/3.5 is derived from the excellent Super-Takumar 28/3.5.

Awesome tips, thanks guys.
I will probably opt for the 3.5 then, since like I said, I don't need a fast lens.

Now its time to get some filters (part of the joy of shooting with film)

I was lucky on eBay one week last year. First a Vivitar-Kiron 28/2.8 for US$20 shipped, then a Tamron 02B 28/2.5 for US$4 (with adapter), and finally a Vivitar-Komine 28/2 CFWA (close-focus) for US$18 shipped. All are superior. The CFWA is my most-used MF lens.

My other favorite 28s are an Access Macro (Tokina) 28/2.8 in PK-M and a TOU *Toyo) Five-Star 28/2,8 in PK-A, both very sharp. As mentioned, it's hard to find a bad 28. I also get prime-like images with a Cosina-made Vivitar Series 1 19-35/3.5-4.5 in PK-A. All were cheap.
