Well it isn't so easy at Finland, with our prizes.

With same amount of money, I could buy as new either, DA * 55/ 1.4 (AND Samyang 85/1.4) OR

FA 77/1.8

So what do you think about it? Any suggestions.?

I have M 50/1.4 and I'm lusting after fast lens for portraits. I'd love to have something longer than 50 mm. How ever I love my Helios 44 M as focal lenght...but some times I would like to have just liiittle longer and faster lens. So it comes in 77/85 mm territory.

What I'm looking at now is have both 55/1.4 and 85/1.4...first 85. Or then I could wait for FA 77, if it would be so great as every one is talking about it.

So any thoughts, my LBA is killing me and I got some money to burn.

I agree with Simon (I see you have already made your move). On APS-C, I just feel like the 55 is a better focal length, while the 77 is a little long. I own the DA 70 and don't use it a whole lot due to its length...

Yeah, I made my move. To be honest I have been pondering for this question for a while now. Just needed some feedback to put my balance right. Thanks for opinion Rondec. After and before buying lenses one need some thoughts from others too. Can't be too sure

Personally I would go with FA77. Samyang is nice but FA77 has class of its own - apart from IQ, smaller size & AF is something indispensable.

I'd also go with the FA77. I really like it's focal length. I also have the Sigma 85mm 1.4 and I prefer the Pentax 77, due to its weight and focal length.
I also love my FA43 which makes a good companion to the FA77.

I went with the Voigtländer 58mm f/1.4 Nokton SLII for a fast portrait lens on APS-C. If you're looking for an 85mm f/2 or so equivalent, you need look no further than that.

The 77, I got partially to complete my FA Limited and partially just because it's awesome.

Now as I have got samyang, it seems to be super sharp and good for what it is. For it's price it cannot be beaten. Now I must wait for DA, but as I shot some snaps with this one yesterday , it did give me nice entrance to longer tele &1.4 class. Takes few attemps to nail the shot thou...
