Was going to buy the 60-250 to be used with and without my TC 1.7x for my trip to the Rockies later this summer but after the price hike, I bought a Panasonic 100-300 for my GH2 instead. This erratic behavior from Ricoh cost them a sale and maybe all future sales from me. I will probably go for the soon to be released Panasonic 12-35 and 35-100 instead of the Pentax equivalents. Makes my GH2 my travel cam and the K-5 plus primes, my street cam. Ricoh/Pentax needs to decide if they want to sell gear or just have very profitable prices.

LOL ... One to the DSRL, one in the backup bag/cabinet and one either coming form or going back for repair?!

No- it was a K5 with a lousy strap. (And honestly, I'm not trolling here)

Maybe it was a glitch or just a temporary reduction in prices-/- just noticed that B&H has gone back to its earlier higher prices! $1599 for DA * 50-135, e.g.

Amazon has the DA* 60-250 (through Emmy Photo) still showing $1499 - 4 left in stock. Looks like all the lenses on Amazon are at the lower prices for now - other sellers they list are mostly at the high prices.

Maybe a temporary "error" on the price of some lenses to dump some of an overstock of lenses. I'm sure Pentax jams a certain amount of product down their throats on a regular basis whether it sells or not and with the price hike I'm willing to bet at least certain models were definitely "or not". Possibly even stuff purchased before the price fixing went into effect which might then be exempt.

Lens Pricing

Well I guess I got lucky as I purchased the 100mm macro when the prices first dropped. I normally miss out on the
good deals but had decided to buy that Tamron 90mm macro when this deal came up so pulled the trigger fast.
