Gary, this one is very special. I like the punchy look with quite a high contrast there.

Thanks James, I wanted that look because normal exposure would have just made another photo, nice but not eyecatching.
It was nice to shoot at night with such bright lighting a few feet above where I wanted to shoot. I think that definitely helped with the high contrast look.
The same type of shot in daylight would be terribly blown out I think.

Landscape in miniature.

And here's a landscape in miniature that I shot at Berkeley botanical gardens this afternoon. I boosted the saturation to give the background some colour.

I took the Nokton off the camera yesterday because I needed a longer focal length and I swear I had separation anxiety because I definitely felt a sense of relief when I put it back on. I definitely need another body now.
Maybe a K2000/m is on the horizon for me.
I can wait for the K20 to drop some more before I invest in that.

It was the roof of a gateway leading into a Japanese style section of the gardens.

neutral density filter

If one wants to use this lens wide open at f/1.4 during the day, would it make more sense to get a three stop or six stop ND filter?

One for the day.

I think my Sigma macro would have been better suited for the day at the conservatory but it was a Nokton day.
