Ibam, the Nokton (and indeed all the modern Voigtlanders & Zeiss) behave exactly like an 'A' lens.

I suspect the reference to the lens being chipped was for the benefit of the Nikon crowd
This is what I expected. The website seems to imply that it's chipped for both brands, but I wonder.

this is the lens that I have most enjoyed using. As James said you can pretty much make anything interesting with this lens.
Here's 2 that I like, the first is a crop. Both wide open.

Wonderful colors Gary! You got the hang of this lens pretty quick and squeezing the best out of it!

It seems to me lenses are initially conceived with one of two mindsets - as a working tool or an artistic implement.

The Nokton to me seems built for the latter and gives so much potential for creativity. I've become drawn to this type of lens and this is still one of the top of the heap for being fun to me, can't agree more.

First time trying to get closer than minimum focus distance

Furthering my learning curve I tried to get just a little bit closer than the minimum focus distance.
It's really not that easy and so I defer to you experts to tell me how I did for a first attempt.
