one quick question, I read in the description that it is capable of full metering - does that mean picking different AF points works too? (even though it's only manual focus...) like an A lens how you can still choose a focus point and get focus confirmation when you hit the right spot?
I believe it only has center metering. Do other A lenses have select metering? I don't have any A lenses to check real quick. I may be missing something.
Hope that helps.

BTW thePiRaTE!!,
Sweet, I turned one out this weekend with a red leaf on green. Nice contrast.

focusing

While focusing and metering are different, on a K20D you do get
focus confirmation like an A lens.

I stand corrected. I believe select focusing is the term I should have used. Sorry, still learning this stuff and get it mixed up at times.
So it meters like an A lens then, since thats what it is?

The focus point stays in the center...at least on the K10 it does.

ahh yes, my error. I was hoping it would allow you to select a focus point even though it had only manual focusing... for some reason I thought my A lenses did that, but it indeed does not. I think I was using an AF lens in manual mode and that's where my thinking got mixed up.

I swear this lens possess magical powers!

Yeah, soft and creamy.

I had not checked out this thread for a while . This thread did turn out unexpectedly serious at the end! It was like a no man's land when it was first started.

Does anyone have a photo of the lens mounted on a K10D/K20D?

Not much bokeh there but the image definitely rocks. I love this style very much.

I'm thinking with the next round of overtime I'll be ordering one of these... just one quick question, I read in the description that it is capable of full metering - does that mean picking different AF points works too? Installed on the K10D it shows up in the viewfinder as a MF lens. Unless I am doing something wrong, the focus point can't be moved around when in 'SEL' (like AF lenses). The red dot focal point remains in the center at all times. When in focus the green hexagon lights up on the bottom of the viewfinder.

I've been so awed by the weird yet magical bokeh this lens has showed that I just ordered one a few minutes ago for my K20D
