Also rangefinder lens like Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 seems like a dream lens to try on but it would require a novelex adaptor on Leica SLR camera .

Slightly off topic but interesting. I am reading a series of books at the moment that are set in England in the 1870's and 1880's. One of main characters in the series is a photographer and the equipment he uses? I'll give you a clue, it begins with V.

It seems to be harder to get the motivation to go out and take pics now the temperature is close to zero, but here are a couple of shot's I got yesterday...









They seem to have lost something either at .jpg compression/conversion or when uploaded to Flickr, but most of the Bokeh is still there.

They seem to have retained everything from an outside perspective - you found colors out in the chill of autumn as well, nice! I really like the first two shots. I did something similar a little while back and your shots make me giddy to keep the Nokton pics rolling again:

Can you give me a title or two Gary?

Ruby in the Smoke, Shadow in the North and Tiger in the Well by Philip Pullman, it's a trilogy. He's the guy that wrote The Golden Compass which they made into a movie last year.
They are young adult books really but he is an incredible writer. He doesn't go into too great detail on the photography side but what he does write about it is historically accurate and it gives a feel of the evolution of photography in those days. I think to some extent those days were as lively as these days with regards to photographic innovation. Now it's all about the sensor and functions, back then it was about changing from glass to paper negatives and being able to capture motion.

It's interesting how many photographers are working with different camera and lens brand combinations.

There are some wonderful lenses that have a sort of dual character/personality: wide open and closed down.

I have recently gotten into the "alt lens world". It's fascinating. I have adapted a bunch of lenses to work with the 5D bodies. Right now my favorite is another 58mm classic: the Minolta Rokkor 58/1.2 (older version with metal grip). This lens has become the "rock star" of the alt lens world. Prices are high for this lens now. But this Rokkor just blows me away with its performance. It has dreamy character wide open but at f/2.0 it's really sharp. By f/4.0 its just stunning...

This lens really looks attractive saw it on CameraQuest Home. Really thinking of it as being my "walk around lens". But would it be too long? Form factor is 87mm.
