So i was looking at the ebay auctions for this lens and some other posts. I dont understand. This lens is "A" chipped?

For Nikon it says you can set the aperture to 16 and it will work like A mode. DOes this work with pentax? can i choose the aperture using the dial and use this lens in A mode?

it works as a normal lens, no stop down metering required

Nikon's Body Aperture is used by setting the lens to the smallest Aperture

I thought "A" stands for automatic metering. With my K20D, I need to switch the aperture ring of the lens to "A" (automatic I suppose), then use the camera to adjust the aperture. It works pretty well, but still have no idea how to change the focus length to 58mm on the camera. Now I can only set it as 55mm, which is shown in the EXIF. Anybody know how to do it?

Nice shots FengyBoy!

I think this lens has great versatility, but I'm always surprised what comes out at 1.4!

Taken this past weekend at my Mum's place.
Our Bleeding Hearts are no where near blooming.
It was quite bright out, hence the super fast shutter speed.
I don't normally shoot that fast but the results were better than I expected.

Though, this one has a good go at blurring. But Nisen bokeh seems to self manifest itself here. I suspect that you might have autolevel the image given most VL 58mm f1.4 shots render extremely low contrast. The accentuation of the contrast would somehow enhance the effect of Nisen bokeh.
