Anybody have any idea about Soligor 135mm F2.8 and any sample photos taken with this lens.

There are many different versions. See:
Soligor 135mm f/2.8 Telephoto Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
for discussion of some of them.

Soligors came in many shapes, sizes and from different manufacturers, some were bad, most were good, and some are excellent. In the 135mm I have this version -

Soligor 135mm 2.8 ( M1****** serial number, probably Tokina )

which according to the serial number is made by Tokina. It's a heavy and well made, old thing, but the image quality is excellent, and I like the 'stop down' feature of this series of lenses. There's a big discussion on Soligors in general over on the Manual Focus Forum which is very informative.

The Soligor serial numbers, as best we know, work like this ( the first digit of the lens serial number )
1= Tokina
2= Sun
3= Sun
4= Sun
5= ?
6= Komine
7= Sun
8= ?
9= Kino
31= ?
A= Komura
H4= Kawanon
H5= Komine
H6= Komine
H7= Tokina
H37= Kawanon
M= ?
N= ?
R= ?
T= Tamron
Y= Komura

Thank you.

Thank you for the details. What are the better numbers to choose with?

The word is, the Tokina's, Sun, Komine and the Tamron are the better lenses, I've got 6 Soligors - the Sun 35 / 2.8 is spectacular, Kino 35 / 3.5 is poor, 135 / 2.8 Tokina very good, 200 / 4.5 Tokina also very good and the 400 / 6.3 Kino is good.

In my last post I said the 135 / 2.8 was a Sun lens - it isn't, it's an 'M1*****' serial number and is as far I know the only Soligor with an M prefix, so I'm going on the '1' first numeral and all the traits of Tokina in that period, sorry for the confusion, I was in a rush.
