Tamron confusion

I am looking at an old tamron 300mm auto 5.6
the problem is I can't match it to any I look at in our index
all the 5.6 lenses I see don't have a tripod mount, but this one does.the collar around the end of the lens can extend to be used as a lens hood.
serial 22210

Is it an adaptall?

any help appreciated

found a pic

has a minolta mount

Never had this one, but I have the 135/2.8 Adapt-A-Matic in interchangeable mount, mine is M42 Like all Tamrons from this era (including the newer Adaptals), it is build like a tank. Optically, well, that depends on many things, I suppose.

Did you look under the Adapt-a-matic link? Some of them are pretty good like the 105mm. I also like the 21mm on film. I don't have any experience with the longer Adapt-a-matics. The 105 is the hardest to come by.

I have one of those, never really tried it properly. Front element rotates when focusing, A/M switch is a bit stiff, aperture has a "flower" shape when not stopped down very much.

The mount is of course adapt-a-matic, just like it says all over the place. This is not compatible with adaptall, or any other mount that is not named adapt-a-matic. Adapters are probably not particularly easy to find without lenses, but with shouldn't be so hard. (No PK adapters exist, but M42 seems pretty common.) Depending on the age of your lens, it may not even be compatible with all adapt-a-matic adapters, as there are two generations, and I'm not sure if they are mutually compatible.

I have a 300 5.6 AUTO_TAMRON in silver. I think it is a transitional version because it uses the Adptall-2 series of mount. My son used it a bird sanctuary last fall and he took some very good hand-held shots with. High detail at distance and incredible colours. PF for sure but for us a lot of fun for $60.

That is because they were discontinued before the K-mount was released.
