Takumar 50 f4 macro K-mount

Anyone familiar with this lens? I've seen reviews of the 50 f4 macro screw mount but can not find anything on the k-mount version. Is this the same as the Pentax-M 50 macro?

The takumar 50mm f4 macro isn't a k-mount lens, it's screwmount. No k-mount version exists under the takumar name, but I believe the M series lens is more or less identical optically.

I don't think such lens exists. Where did you see it?

I don't recall there ever being a takumar bayonet macro. There were some popular focal lengths made in takumar bayonet as a low cost alternitive to the SMC lenses, but i have never seen a macro.

as for the macro lenses, pentax made super takumar, SMC Takumar, SMC Pentax (K) and SMC Pentax-M macro lenses in both 50 and 100mm versions. The optical formula DID not change AT all between any of these lenses, however the filter diameter did change between notably the K series and all others.

All these lenses offered close focusing to permit 1:2 magnification without extension tubes.

It was listed at KEH under the K-mount lens. I ordered it, so I guess I'll find out what it is when I get it. They had the screw mount versions listed under the screw mount lens, not sure if they made a listing mistake or what. I may need to contact them. It just may be the pentax-m version.

Lens arrived today, and it is definately a K-mount. Problem is, it is not a 50mm f4 macro, it's a standard 50mm f2. Not happy.

Good old KEH, at least you can return it with no issues. They have mixed up my orders numerous times as well.

Phil.
