DA* 60-250 - Where is it??

Is this dead? It was first announced in Sept 2006. The configuration had changed by the next re-announce. It had a tripod collar. I thought for sure we would see this today. Pentax may be letting it die a quiet death before it was even born.
That would be a shame, I was ready for this one.

based on what chris said in his k20d essay, it's delayed by hoya for an as-yet-unknown but supposedly really good/new reason. mid to late year i thought i saw mentioned somewhere, so it shouldn't be too much longer, hopefully

No.
Pentax is having difficulty in this lens' manufacturing, according to Pentax's marketing manager (Hisashi Tatamiya) at the press release in China.
Pentax may provide further info at the PMA08, including a new version of the lens raodmap, maybe even a bit about 645D.

I'm hoping the surprise Hoya is planning for the 60-250/4 is a 12-60/4! That would be neat and, would be a great alternative for those who find the 2.8's too expensive!
