lens prices

So I just found the funding for a DA 15mm Limited but the price is $100 more than the last time I checked. Does anyone know if they will go down soon? I refuse to pay $649 for it

It doesn't seem like the prices will drop.

You can keep an eye on the used market here. Put a keyword watch on 15mm and you'll get emails. Just wait for your price to hit. The Marketplace is great.

Check Overstock for the 15mm too ... they had it for the "old" price.

I'm actually seeing it for $549 US right now at B&H. Some strange stuff going on with prices. Seems like B&H is showing lower prices...some big differences between them and Adorama. Like $539 for the 35 Macro. What was it the other day?

OK, I checked several prices at B&H and many of them are back to where they were 2 weeks ago. This is getting a bit strange. Adorama has not shifted theirs, from a few prices I spot checked.

They must not be moving at these new prices and B&H is trying to move them along....

Yea, I noticed B & H had their prices back down too. Except on a couple of lenses (100mm Macro was still at the "new pricing" level). Who knows!?!?!? Very strange marketing technique.

The 15mm was back down to $549 though! I guess if people are in the market for Pentax glass it might be time to buy with all this crazy pricing junk going on!

It makes no sense why da 21 is more expensive than all of the other da limiteds and even the FA 43. Just shows you how crazy these Prices are!

It's strange that 3 days ago I saw the 50-135 and 16-50 f2.8 lens DA* series go for 1500 on BH then yesterday when I checked again, it was 1000. Very strange indeed.

It's really quite odd. These are not just little swings. A shift from $1500 to $1k is massive. I've been shopping for a few lenses but refused to consider lenses like the 16-50 as it just seemed downright overpriced. I know I'm not the only one .

A company like B&H really isn't in the business of sitting on tons of non-moving inventory. They appear to be trying to flex some muscle here and move these toward a price point they think they will actually sell at, despite the MSRP mandate?

Update: b&h now has da 21 for $549, so same price as da 15. Da 70 is priced $20 more while da 35 macro is $10 less. Also $899 for da 50-135 or da 16-50. Finally they have dropped d FA 100 WR back down to $649.
I am getting obsessed with tracking these price swings; it really is like the stock market! Time to buy (somewhat) low!
Note that Adorama has not followed these price drops of b&h. Really strange! I thought these two companies usually set the same prices.

Another update for anyone in the market for a brand-new DA 21 or DA 17-70 -- Adorama has these lenses for less than B&H, pricing both at $539 (or $10 less than B&H's price). Weird because Adorama is selling most other DA lenses at much more than B&H, such as the DA 70 for $699 compared to B&H's price of $569. Adorama shows the price for the DA 21 as $649.95 but above that figure it says "suggested retail price." When you add the lens to your cart, the price shows up as $539. I'm not sure why Adorama has singled out these two lenses for the special reduced prices; maybe it's their attempt to clear out some of the inventory on those lenses that might not be selling well. But I can't imagine anyone has bought any DA lenses from Adorama at their higher prices when you can just as easily go to B&H's website and get the same lens for a lot less money.
