135/3.5...which one?

Which would you rather keep an excellent condition Super-Takumar or a very good Super-Multi-Coated Takumar? Both glass is very clean.

The SMC version will exhibit less flare, so I'd keep that one if you use it a lot.

are you a collector or a user.

a collector would keep both, a user would keep the smc tak assuming glass and aperture function are equal in both,

Hi Lowell, I am a collector alright, but I have this sickness....I keep buying and buying and buying....I think I need to go to a 12 step photo equipment group!!

I think you are right about the SMC...

the SMC by all accounts should be better, and as I recall the lens formula is the same. sometimes this is not the case, and the smc vs super tak lenses can have different renderings, which can influence the issue.

My M42 kit, and yes, i have one with 14 lenses from 16 to 200mm, although having some SMC taks, largely is of other lenses just to be different than my K mount kit which does have a large percentage of K and M lenses for just that reason
