$3 exact replacement hood for 55-300 DA or DA-L

Just bought one of these for my newly acquired 55-300 DA-L:

Portable PH-RBG 58mm Lens Hood For Pentax SMCP-DA 55-300mm f4-5.8 ED | eBay

Identical to the original, minus the Pentax logo. The logo's not worth $40 more, IMO.

Got one of those a year ago for mine, but I think they charged $9 then. Works great.

I wish they have the replacement hood for the 18-135 WR lens that cheap; 60 bucks from BHphoto.

Can you spin those around backwards & store it on the lens like you can with the 18-55?

Yes you can. In fact it works better because it doesn't cover the zoom ring as much as the PH-RBA.

I paid $20 for a PH-RBG knockoff 2 years ago.

No kidding. I still haven't found a decent replacement hood for that lens.

Sweet! I have one of those retractable rubber hoods for it, but I prefer the reversible plastic hoods. More impact protection & they're deeper so they prevent more stray light from getting in.

I have a rubber 3-stage hood as a backup for the rigid one. I like them a lot but they do not reverse for storage, however the collapsing works nearly as well.

They are so close that I bought one for the piece that goes in the window for an original hood that someone sold me without bothering to mention that the insert was missing. Fit like a charm!

I've got one like that as well, though I'm not sure it was that vendor. I can't believe how much the Pentax version costs. If it had been only a little more, I'd have gone that way.
