The 19mm focal length would be right up my alley. I'm more interested in the wider end of the range than the longer end of the range. 21mm is a big of a stretch for me, and it is a DA, so there is no aperture ring, which I would like to have.

I can can recommend K20/4 ....excellent lens but seems to be quite rare. How about M20/4? It is smaller, cheaper and much more common on ebay ...

Well, there's no UWA prime on the lens roadmap, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
on apsc 20 is not a UWA, heck it isn't even as wide as the very common 28mm in the 35mm format.

this is one of my big issues with apsc. On FF I could pick up literally hundreds of different 28 f2.8, but to achieve the same on apsc i would need to find an 18 2.0, heck i'd settle for a 20 2.0 but it would be huge and expensive compared to the same on FF
the big weakness of apsc is the wide to ultra wide range unfortunately

The DA15 is essentially covering of the 24mm range (not quite but close) but is also quite slow by comparison,

Edit I will pipe in that the Tokina/Lentar/???? 20 f3.8 in m42 is a nice sharp lens I picked mine up from a fellow forum member

I would avoid that, but based on only one copy I had.....so I might be wrong. Anyway my findings were, that cheap DA16-45 was noticeably better than Tamron 17mm.

Try the Zenitar 16/2.8. It's in fact a fish eye lens but on crop it's barely FE and can be easily defished.

Price varies from $150 to $200.
