Yes, I have the Sigma HSM II and can attest that at 2.8 the Tamron is sharper. By F4 the Sigma is sharp.

I stay with it due to the fast AF of the HSM.

I have been wondering about 200mm f/2.8. How do the tamron and sigma compare to the DA* 200.
I don't need the zoom necessarily - I am primarily interested in optical quality.
