[MSM]

Just thinking about buying a more standard prime for walk around and indoor/close spaces. I like the build and small size of the limiteds. The 35 and 40 seem pretty appealing. FOV is also nearly the same. I plan to do mostly conventional shots with occasional close up shots (flowers) and maybe some macro. Is there a disadvantage of buying a lens with macro capabilities when using it mostly for non-macro shots? Any optical tradeoffs that would make one lean towards say the 40mm non macro. If not, I would just as soon have the option for macro and choose the 35mm.

Probably the AF of the macro will be slower.
I think the DA40 ha a pretty fast AF.

I think I read that the DA 35mm will be $600 USD when it comes out, so it'll be much more expensive.

blende8, my DA 40mm focuses noticeably faster than my FA 50mm.
