A compact prime lens

Hello all,

I Have an ME Super and carry it around a lot with me, noticing how compact the body is- and really I need to get a compact prime lens to compliment it. I mean my Helios 44m-4 is quite small but I cant really shove it and the camera in a coat pocket with comfort. So I was wondering if their were any suggestions on a small pancakey lens to go with the ME Super anywhere between the 35-60mm range (obviously with an aperture ring).

Thanks
Bertie

Pentax-M 40/2.8 is 18mm deep, and is a good match for an M-series body. There are lots of choices around 30mm deep.

the m40/2.8 as baronite suggested has to be the way to go for compactness.

The M 40mm f/2.8 is tiny, and so are the slower 50mms actually. The M 50mm f/1.7 is very small, nice and fast and has great IQ.

If you can find one and don't mind manual focus, another candidate is the Voigtlander 40mm f/2.

As mentioned, the M40/2.8 'pancake' perfectly matches your requirements (having been designed for exactly that purpose). Even putting a UV filter on the front makes it significantly longer.
