Any comments on my New to Pentax lenses

I am buying into Pentax for the first time.
My previous camera was a FF DSLR
My used lens in order of most use.
85mm
50mm
24-70mm
100mm Macro
70-200mm
16-35mm
1.4X

My pentax kit with the K10D body will be

50mm/1.4
10-17mm
16-50mm
50-135mm

Not sure on the Macro yet, are there DA versions?? Or I will just get a 50mm/2.8 macro
Possibly a 40mm pancake later on
Is there a 1.4X for the 50-135mm lens?? Think in the future??

I need to get a flash also, I like the Metz flashes, never used or read anything about the pentax flash.

Wow, I'm jealous. BTW, Sigma also makes flashes for Pentax DSLRs.

Welcome to the world of Pentax! I see you were a 5D shooter. What made you switch?

That would be quite a nice setup for your K10D. Yes, there are DA macros. The 50 and 100. They are actually DFA so they can be used on film bodies as well.

As for flashes, the pentax flash system is great. I have an af360 and just love it. You will also be able to fire them wirelessy with the K10D which is a nice touch.

I have use the Sigma flashes on my Minolta camera.
I did not care much for the interface on it.

I also need something sturdy, the only time I use the flash is on a flash bracket

The 50mm and 100mm are D FA, if I recall correctly.

However, if you can handle 35mm focal length, there is going to be a 35mm limited macro. That should be even better than the D FAs.

The 40mm pancake is an impressive lens, indeed, but maybe not for the right reasons. If you can sacrifice a bit of the size advantage you can get better IQ out of other lenses in that class.

The 50mm f/1.4 you'll love, the 10-17 sounds good, there is also a 12-24 you may want to look into.

The 50-135 is a good call, but the 16-50 has had QC issues it would seem, so you may want to wait that lens out a bit. The 18-55 is quite the performer, it has definitely impressed me.

Sorry but I can't help much on flashes or TC's!

35mm macro seems to short for me.
In FF I liked the 100mm macro better then the 50mm

I was going to buy the 16-50mm/2.8 new with a return if I have to...

There is a Sigma 70mm macro... that's about the right FL. Keep in mind that the 10-17mm is a fisheye, 12-24mm is a corrected wide angle. The Sigma 10-20mm and Sigma 12-24mm are also available for a bit less $$$.

Personally, I've heard some pretty crappy things about P-TTL, but it's worth doing your own research about that--I use my flash once a year.

I am not even buying one now, I will wait until I do some research first.

I think I want the fisheye look on the wideangle.

I had a Minolta 16mm fisheye and 17-35mm zoom lens.
I used the fisheye more.

These are somewhat rare and well worth having. Very sharp unit and it is AF as well. I've used mine on several lenses with excellent results.

I don't know, in Toronto, I got my Pentax DFA 100mm Macro cheaper than the Tamron 90mm macro, and it IS Sharp! highly recommended

in full frame, if yuou liked a 100mm macro you will like it also on ASP-C, remember that while there is a crop factor on ASP-C the longer lens still gives you greater lens to subject to lens distance.

Since your #1 used lens was an 85mm prime, I would highly recommend either the FA limited 77mm 1.8 or the A 85mm f1.4 (crazy expensive and hard to find though). I personally love the idea of short fast telephotos and have been having a great time with my 77. I don't know if I could really justify the extra for the 85 though, but that's up your choice if you decide to go this route.

Looking at your #3 lens, the Tamron 28-75 2.8 should be right up your alley.

I was using a 85mm on a FF camera.
85mm on a cropped pentax is not another 85mm lens.
50mm/1.4 is close.

I am going with the 16-50mm to replace the 24-70mm.
This is the closest lens on the cropped sensor.
