I have the Tammy 70-200's older brother - the Adaptall SP 80-200/2.8 - which is essentially identical in optical performance. Remove the optics from any 2x TC with PK/A contacts and use it as an extension tube. You'll gain all the close-focus advantage you can effectively use with a lens of that size and weight and loose only about 1 1/2 stops of practical speed -- and auto-focus too, but that's rarely a problem under those circumstances.
