Why is Helios 44m-4 more expensive than 44m?

I would like to know why the Helios 44m-4 is much more expensive than a Helios 44m? Is there a noticeable difference in the sharpness or bokeh or something?
Bokeh is more important to me, I would prefer a swirly bokeh.

Thermisn't really any reason to get a 44M-4. There is no A/M switch so you have to gimick the pin. The 44K-4 is equivalent to the 44M-4 but is K-mount.

The other difference is that most 44M-4s are multi-coated while the 44M is single coated. If you want a lens that is multi-coated and has a swirly bokeh look for the 44-3. You have to be careful though, some 44-3s won't mount on a DSLR.

Today I tortured my 44M a bit (against the sun of course), so it looks like:

The bokeh is:

Not bad lens, considering the price although I heard that 44M focusing ring becomes stiffer and stiffer when using.

I have used both versions and saw no real difference in sharpness. I would suggest the 44M over the 44M-4 because of the A/M switch and higher blade count. As for multi-coating...unless the lens says MC, it is single coated. Like boriscleto (above), I would like to get a 44-3, but am wary of the focus ring issue.
