need help?

hope some one can help me on this because i've been thinking lately of buying a wide angle lens but not very wide, only wanted to use this in taking group pictures & natural land scape.

but till now i don know what to buy?

maybe some of you have any ideas of what best lens there is at a decent price.

my budget is short somewhere around $250 but still willing to add if its worth it.

thanks hope to read something from you guys later on.

I take it the wide end of your kit lens is not 'wide enough' for your purpose? the 18-55 is a pretty good starting point.

Sigma 24/2.8 if you can find one. Usually priced around 200-250 USD. This is the lens that i would recommend.

Although 28mm isn’t that wide on a cropped sensor, but the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 is generally considered as one of the sharpest lens you can have on an APS-C body. I had this lens at one point and IQ is in different league in comparison to my DA-L kit. For something wider at that price range and will complement a WR body such as your K-5, the 18-55mm WR would most likely be your only choice; again, IQ will not be as sharp as what you already have. Based on your location you would want a WR lens. For $250 you can also get a used DA 16-45 which is better than the 18-55 but not WR. I don’t have experience with the suggested Sigma 10-20 but I’ve seen impressive samples taken with that lens.

thanks alot for the response guys right now i'm looking at sigma 24-60 but this one is hard to find because its already discontinued & about the 16-45 hmmm i'll try to consider that one. i've tried the sigma 10-20 and i find it very very wide & really sharp.

for now i think its all about the budget well thanks anyway for the help guys.
