Rikenon 80-200 2.8 Zoom?

Just seen this for sale on ebay (link) and was wondering if it would be suitable to mount on Pentax DSLR.

Since there is always the fear of the common problem of locking the lens onto the body.

It made me even more suspicious since its not listed on the database here on the forums.

EDIT: Looked a bit harder and realised it was a "P" version so it did have the locking pin, but would like to know if anyone else has ever come across this lens before.

No, that's a rare one indeed, haven't seen that. It's not even listed on the drricoh page, I believe that's a first in my lookups for Rikenons. I don't worry about the pins, they are either more like buttons or removable with 5 minutes and a small screwdriver.

My 70-150 f/4 XR and 28 f/2.8 P are both excellent except when the coatings show their age. Because of them I keep a Rikenon search on my ebay page!

Certainly is going cheap, and the instructions about removing the pin seem clear enough. I wonder if it is of the same quality as the FA* 80-200mm 2.8?

Just judging by the photograph this seems to be re-branded Tokina AT-X 2.8/80-200.
Seems to be a good deal at that price.

Looking at the two, that most probably is the case, although the Tokina has the "A" position on the aperture ring and I wonder if it has the locking pin like the Rikenon.

If I remember correctly the first version of the Tokina was without the "A" setting.
