B + W UV XS Pro Filter too wide for 50-200mm lens hood

Can anyone reccommend a 49mm UV filter that will fit on a Pentax DA 50-200mm WR lens? Bought a B + W XS Pro filter, but it is too wide and now I can't use the lens hood when the filter is on the lens.

The XS at BHphoto is listed with 49mm threads both ends? there is a extra wide one made by B+W though and its called XS on the Schneideroptics page. I put all the links below.

Is it possible that whoever sold you the filter accidentally gave you the wrong one (it costs twice as much btw)

This one? its got a 49mm thread for the lens and a 62(?)mm thread on the other side. I had no idea they existed
I guess they're not a big seller 6-10 week leadtime

The idea of this one is to have a much wider frame on the outer edge to reduce the likelihood of vignetting on ultrawide lenses.

Your 50-200 is a telephoto lens so there is little chance of vignetting from the filter.

The standard F-Pro B+W line is fine 49mm thread on both sides like most round filters. I'd buy the Multi coated version

That is if you feel it necessary to have a clear filter in front of your lens. That's a whole other can of worms.

This filter will also fit on the DA15ltd, DA21ltd (without hood), DA35macro Ltd, FA43 ltd, FA50, DA70 ltd, FA77 ltd, DFA100macro and many others

Found a filter that fits!

Unfortunately, just like aspirin, all 49mm filters are not alike! However, I found that the Marumi Filters (both UV and polarizing) fit under the lens hood just fine.
