cheers
True, but folks here tend to be more respectful than those on ebay.

If you don't have a 1.4x or 1.5x TC at the moment, I would wait for the Pentax one. I would imagine it will be better than either the Tamron or Kenko and, hopefully, will multiply focal length values so SR works to its full potential.
A very good idea

I'm sure we'll hear more at the PMA in a few weeks. Last I heard it was being released in the Spring.

If they really, really, didn't take SR into account, I'll buy Pentax and fire the engineer in charge. Any donations?

A very generous friend has lent me his DA* 50-135 for 3 years. Or maybe it was 3 weeks--I forget now... Anyway, I've been trying it with the Tamron 1.4x MC4 TC (on a K10D) and I'm having inconsistent results. The SDM works, but auto-focusing fails most of the time. Maybe for 1-in-10 attempts the camera will acquire focus, but for the other 9 it will hunt back and forth and eventually give up (I'm using AF.C). If I focus manually the photos seem to retain their great IQ, but it's a shame to use this high-quality combo only in manual focus.

I should mention that without the TC the DA* 50-135mm works flawlessly and has no problems acquiring focus.

Mis, I had the same problem. What fixed it for me was cleaning the contacts with an eraser on the TC.
