Thanks for the post. I was wondering if there was going to be a date. Kind of sealed the deal for me, I am going to go with the Sigma 10-20. Looks like a fun lens!

FYI, got a reply from them on ETA (or lack thereof)
I take this to mean it'll be at least 6 months out, so maybe by xmas :-(

Nice, and like LaRee many of my favorite lenses are Tammys. But I just got the DA 12-24.

hate to be a downer, but this is probably going to run like $900...
if i had a really steady high-paying job, i'd be all over this, though!

I kinda need the 10-24mm first as I am looking to go to the Grand Canyon this year, and that would be a helluva lens to have, but I will prolly go with the 70-200mm f/2.8 if it comes out first.

If it's gonna cost around $900, I guess I would keep my Sigma 10-20mm

Overcome by LBA, just thinking this would be in the $800-900 range, and out there in July/December range, I caved in and got the 10-20 Sigma today. I doubt very much I'll be disappointed. I've seen WAY-To-Many great images with this len(se). LBA in abeyance for the moment.

What makes you think this will be a $900 lens?

Extra 4mm compared to Sigma would've been nice, but half a stop in speed doesn't move me at all. Anyway, got Sigma already and I don't think I'll be changing it soon. And another thing. I don't think it's gonna be as afordable as Sigma 10-20. But it seems to be a goood lens...

count me in the "was looking at the sigma 10-20 until the tamron 10-24 came along" club

ang extra 4mm and half a stop in speed.... mmmm.... but no other details on this lens makes the news really... frustrating. hehe.

Yeah details please and a price would be nice. Here's a picture at least but no new info:
Tamron developing 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5: Digital Photography Review

I'll be getting a Sigma this year unless this lens shows up before June and isn't too much more than $500. But I doubt it on both.

Wow, that's a surprise...

Anyone know what the average time lag is for Sigma between the Canikon mount and the Pentax mount releases?

I'm still waiting for the Tokina/Pentax 11-16mm f/2.8. Maybe it'll be announced at the Photokina
