CallZeiss then

1700MM F4 and only 256KG - but it is AF, and apparently focuses as fast as a standard zoom (must be some serious SDM motor in this baby) - price never disclosed beyond it was several million Euros

Zeiss Apo Sonnar T* 1700 mm F4

The predecessor to this lens had slightly more reach (1701 mm), but with a considerably slower aperture of f/7, and massive size and weight by comparison.

At that size and price, why not get a telescope instead? A nice newtonian would give you excellent results for a fraction of the price

Here is Canon 5200mm f14 prime

Ginormous 5200mm Canon Lens on eBay

The only bad part is that it's in FD mount so adapting it to Pentax K is a bit of chopping engineering, otherwise, I would go for it when it was on ebay for 45000$

Well here is a nice video showing the lens in action:

if you could get that on the shuttle in post 16 and leave the atmosphere you may be able to get a sharp shot out of that thing huge lenses really struggle with atmospheric distortions

I'm holding out for the F2.8 'Pro' version...
