18-55 WR Companion

I've been really impressed with my 18-55 WR kit lens lately. I think it is quite a capable lens. It has also made me really appreciate what a zoom lens can offer. Anyhow, as a companion "normal" prime I have the FA31 & DA40 ltds. I really only want to keep one of them. I realize they are different lenses....I like the small size of the DA relative to the FA31 & 18-55. For some reason, I'm hesitant to give up the FA but I don't know why. Obviously it's great fast glass, but so is the DA only a bit slower. Which of these primes would you keep and which would sell?

31mm hands down. There is no comparison at f1.8, f2.0 f2.2 f2.4.....and it is sharp from f1.8. plus it's full frame so you have that potential covered for future upgrades.

Well that makes me feel good about my first ever 18-55WR lens I have on the way to me.

Just one caution - only sell a lens if you absolutely have to. I've been down this road many times before - I would have my eye on a new lens, and look for a lens I could sell to help "justify" or help pay for the new one. In almost every instance down the road, I ended up buying said sold lens again.

Just be sure about getting rid of any lenses before you do it.
