Interesting, I can't find anything on Lenstip.com about the lens. Guess they're evaluating a copy and leaked the photo. Photokina is shaping up to be very interesting.

Here's a link to the Polish site:

O tym si

(scroll down to the "Samyang" heading).

Basically just the photo, a comment that the lens has been rumored for several months,
and that the leaking of the photo suggests an imminent release.

Thanks. I didn't look at the Polish Language version. Guess they haven't translated everything they put up onto their English version of the site.

"A few months ago there was talk of the lens Samyang 24mm f/3.5 tilt-shift. It seems that the premier of this product is fast approaching, because the network is already there even a picture of the new model."

I wonder if they'll be tempted to do a rigid version of this lens for the 645D?

Interesting. Hadn't heard anything about this lens before... If it's cheap enough I'll spring for it—maybe.

What is "cheap enough"? Keep in mind it is competing with $2000 Canon and Nikon lenses that are also manual focus.

How have they done in the past in comparison to other makers? There seems to be a trend in Samyang's offerings toward higher prices.

All of their lenses are manual focus though, the $450 Samyang 35mm f1.4 isn't necessarily competing with the $830 Nikon 35mm f1.4 because the Nikon is auto focus. You're not giving up anything with the tilt/shift because they are all manual focus, if the tilt and shift ranges are similar and optical quality is similar, I doubt it will be under $1000.

They're competing with the ARAX 35mm f/2.8 tilt/shift lens:

Arax Photo | Specials | MC ARAX 2.8/35mm Tilt & Shift lens.

The ARAX is available these days for around $650, when exchange rates were more in the US dollar's favor it was $350 several years ago. 24mm would definitely be more favorable than 35mm, and I'm pretty excited about this Samyang lens (I've been extremely happy with the Samyang 85mm and 35mm).

Being 11mm wider, I wouldn't consider it in direct competition with the Arsat, the Canon and Nikon versions are the same focal length and aperture.
