Lost white dot

I noticed that the little white dot on the aperture ring of my M85/2 has disappeared.
Are there replacements available? Or quick fixes?

Maybe I'll just put a sticker on it, since the little hole underneath would give access to dirt or moisture.
Luckily it has been stored in the original leather case so no harm done.

Choose a plastic bead of the correct diameter at a craft store. Cut or sand it in half. Glue in place.

Have fun -- pick a unique color!! Chartreuse would be eye catching.

Great idea!

I'll leave the sticker I just made underneath to avoid glue inside the lens.
My A50 has a slightly yellow shaded dot. Prefer the pearl white of the M50 and the M135.
But chartreuse... no one on PF would touch my lens if it was stolen, they would report it to me if seen !!!

Try one that is glow in the dark, it could be a big help in low light.

No one on eBay sold half a 4mm bead made of thorium. Bummer!

Thorium is overrated. Try Tritium.

The night sights on my Yugoslavian made surplus SKS are genuine tritium, still glow faintly after 20 some years. Dunno what the radioactive half life of this stuff is but I think this is past it. Hard to get it in dot form though, usually comes in tiny vials.

The same has happened on one of my M lenses.

Let me know what colour you choose and I'll get the same. Then in a couple of months we can start a rumour that Pentax made a couple of exclusive, very expensive M lenses which had , maybe gold, dots on and these are now worth a fortune

Here we go:
List of colors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"French lilac" would be my best bet. Or "Wisteria". You can definitely not have "fuzzy wuzzy" on a lens!
We could name the "le lilac" edition lenses in the EXIF data afterwards.

"This particular photo was taken with the infamous pentax 'le Lilac' lens. See the unique bokeh in the upper left corner"

Seb, dreaming on...

Think big -- remember the mood rings?

Or a powered LED? Or just a 'dummy' LED lens to tweak the "far side" shooters.

But that color clashes with the day-glow orange stripe on many of my lenses

HelmiQ had glossy oranges too, same price. Shipping world wide.
