I recently picked up a 50-200, I was quite impressed with size & weight, compared to my F70-210. Nice pictures too.

I think at the center they both seemed around the same to me, around the edges esp wide open the 70-210 does edge the 50-200 out a little.. But you pay for it in weight and size.. It isn't enough of a difference to be worth it for me...

My 70-210 is sold now so I can't show any examples, sorry..

I'd say that joele's experience is the same as mine. I didn't really plan on buying the 50-200, but my 70-210 locked up (wouldn't zoom) one week before I left on holidays. I needed to take something.
