the image quality at that SINGLE focal length would have to be worlds better than the sigma to make this lens desirable.
otherwise your missing out on the 70-199mm usability the sigma offers!
Gooshin, you've got a point about the usefulness of zooms, one of the reasons that the 70-200 range is one of the best-sellers in most lens-makers product lines. On the other hand, remember that very few zooms manage to deliver their best image quality at the extremes of their focal range. I suspect that the DA* 200mm should significantly outperform the Sigma at 200mm, based on Pentax's fine track record with its high-end primes.
