would you sacrifice a 40 limited to fund the TC? If said lens has barely been used?

I would recommend you the kenko 1.5x (cheap, reasonably good and autofocus) or a vivitar 2x macro focusing (cheap, awesome, allow you to transform normal lenses in macro lenses and manual focus). You also can find the ubber famous smc-F1.7x adapter but I wouldnt recommend to expend 400USD for an adapter if all your lenses are autofocus, otherwise this adapter is really good. And if you find them, the pentax rear converter 1.4x and 2x long and short are quite good (and expensive and manual focus). Hope it helps
