18 55 mm Pentax test. What to expect in the rain from WR.

I was curios to check what kind of picture quality to expect from Pentax ad.


Luckily today is a rainy day...Well my lens is not 18-135 WR but 18-55 and number of drops on the lens is much less than on the picture above.
Here it is what I got:
1. 18 mm F4 no drops on the front element:


2. 55mm Wide Open


After putting under the rain having some drops on the front element:
18mm wide open:


18mm F9


55mm wide open


55 mm F9.5

Not bad at all. Some flaring from the drops on the front element in the later pictures, but still good. That lens works best stopped down a little; then it's actually a great little lens that I always have a lot of fun shooting with.

I would definitely invest in a hoya hmc filter and wipe away!
