Sigma 10 - 20 4-5.6 HSM

Is there such a thing as the HSM version for Pentax mount of this lens? Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there's no such thing as the HSM version for the 10-20 4-5.6 Pentax mount.

Please enlighten me.

I think you are right.
AFAIK only the newer Sigma 10-20/3.5 version is available with HSM for Pentax.

It was probably only Canikon that got HSM version of 10-20/4-5.6 as they need motor in the lens for full compatibility on all cameras.

I guess I'm correct

Yes I do believe that the newer 10-20 3.5 has the HSM option for pentax. But the older ones doesn't but the thing is Sigma still advertised the pentax 4-5.6 mounts as HSMs

And yes I'm thinking the same thing. Canikon had the HSM versions because their entry level and mid tier cameras doesn't have built-in motors not like Pentax.

You are correct, there is no HSM version of the 10-20mm F4-5.6 for K-mount. It was the same for a number of sigma lenses, e.g. the Sigma DC EX 30/1.4, which is available in HSM for other mounts, but not k-mount.

And yes, I can confirm that the Sigma 10-30mm F3.5 EX DC HSM lens in K-mount has HSM, since I own one.

Very nice that's awesome to hear.

It's sad that sigma is misleading a lot of people by not having a specific "BOX" container. But it does makes sense because their target market really is the majority of people which I'm assuming are Canikon users.

IMO it's an advantage with screw-drive on this type of lens, as AF will work on all Pentax DSLR.

That, and it's a lens for which you won't use AF much anyway. At least at 10-14mm I usually set it at 1m, f/5.6 (or narrower) and shoot it as a fix focus.

Yeah it's like shallow DOF doesn't exist on that lens <15
