18-55 kit lenses

If I buy a K-30 should I buy with the kit lens or use my old kit lens that came with my K-r?

I'm assuming the K-r came with the 18-55 DAL kit lens and that the K30 you are looking at comes with the DAL also. If that is the case, it's probably pointless to get another one unless you plan on selling your K-r kit with the lens and want an 18-55 for your new K30.

In some cases, Amazon has the K30 with kit lens for less than or just a few dollars more than body only. If that's the situation, then I'd buy the one with the kit lens if it costs less or a tiny bit more than body only.

If you want weather-sealing you could go for the 18-55mm WR and try to sell the other one, but it's got the same optics otherwise, so if you don't plan on shooting in the rain then hang on to what you have and maybe get the 50mm prime or something like that

I would sell the old lens and get the 18-135 WR kit for the K-30

It's good to have at least one WR lens for those drippy times.

Great choice, I bought this combo and I love it. The lens is much better than some of the early reviews, and the K-30 is great.
