It is not really "new." I have had one for over a year. And yes, it comes in Pentax K mount.

Hmm.. that's a different model. There IS a new one just announced. Do people even bother to look around before answering these questions?

I did. Even googled the exact name and came up with the link which says it is available for Pentax. But the OP is quoting a press release from Photokina which seems to be a new refresh without any additional details. So I provided the information I had and indicated I was unsure by using a question mark. It does appear that the name is exactly the same so I was a little unsure as how to tell which is which. Guess I should have just stayed quiet, sorry to offend you.

Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression that I was offended, especially by you. I was probably bringing some angst from another thread to this one.

So it was me that offended. As otherwise stated, I did a search on the exact lens name and came up with the one that has been around for a bit. Exact same specs and branding. Sorry to not measure up to your standards.

So, in an attempt to be a little more helpful, here is the announcement of the new lens. No indication yet which mounts will be offered.

And I had a long day at work and am feeling cranky too. Didn't mean to sound so snarky.
Going to bed now.......

Based on the pictures and specs, it looks like a new design. Here are a few key differences:

Smaller maximum magnification
Slightly shorter
Different optical arrangement (16 elements, 14 groups, instead of 17/13)
Rounded aperture blades
Lighter

It also sports a new look for Sigma, actually closer to that of the DFA 100 macro WR. Their lenses have looked the same for quite some time, this is a departure for them. I don't know what the big white C on the side stands for, maybe it's a mention of the mount ? (C would be for Canon)

I reviewed the previous two versions for pentaxforums, I'll be curious to see what differences this design brings! The smaller magnification is a big downside, IMHO.

I suppose C is for "Contemporary"; like new 35mm f1.4 has A for "Art".
