Any clues at the DA* lens coming???

Hi guys, I was looking at the k-mount road map and i think i would love the DA* coming at 2013(maybe?). Do we have any clues or rumors regarding this?

The roadmap says 2013 or later. I think it will be released with the K-3(?) next year.

20ish-80ish mm, constant F2.8 aperture...sounds like a handy lens for those who don't need to go ultra-wide but think the 50-135mm is too long.

It's not going to be a constant f/2.8, guys. Just look at the Nikon 16-85, which, while being 3.5-5.6 is still almost as large as the 16-50/2.8.

I don't think they'll make a variable aperture DA*

How bout a 28-80 F2.8 Fixed. Personally loving that range with my old F zoom.(Fastest focusing lens I have, thanks to that insanely short focus throw.)

Might make for a pretty new toy. Heck, they could even just borrow the Tamron 28-75 lens design, since they're so fond of avoiding *real* development it seems.(For the time being, I'm sure they'll figure out what to do soon enough)

Heh, speaking of the Tamron, it would be funny if they rebadged it

I'm almost ready to upgrade my lineup..Since i mostly shoot with my 18-135 as my walkaround-travel lens,i could use that range and the DA* quality.. I could also add a sigma 10-20 so i would be covered for the wide also.. So if this lens is coming i can do some patience and some savings to get it!!Thanks all for your info..

or borrow the new Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di USD (which isn't available in PK mount) add some seals, brand it a D FA* 24-70 F2.8 ED [IF] SDM, and Pentax is ready to go digital FF with a short zoom which is useful also on ASP-C;

OR

design their own new DA* 16-70 F3.5 ED AL [IF] SDM (for ASP-C only) which should break, once and for all, all Pentax FF rumours IMO.

I'm afraid i cant justify the price difference between the Sigma 10-20 and Da 12-24.. Almost double value and for what? If only it was a WR lens i could consider it..
