Voigtlander Ultron 40/2.0

I've tested the new Voigtlander Ultron 40/2.0 SLII lens.
You can read it here:

In short:

Please don't ask for tests against the DA40 or FA43.
I don't have these lenses.

Voigtlaender, Voigtländer, Voigtländer

Thanks for the great test!

Regarding the flare: do you think the Pentax has an edge here because of the SMC coating?

This is certainly possible.
Perhaps the tight hood of the Ultron might have an influence, too.
Don't know ...
I can test it without hood next time the sun will come out (probably not this week).

Wow, you really did a thorough test and using the professional methods to test various parameters.

Both of my Nokton 58mm and Ultron 40mm are arriving tomorrow. In your test, centre and corner sharpness plus CA and contrast are all beating 35mm f2 except in the department of flare being the weakest feature. Otherwise the image quality of ultron 40mm is outstanding!

The Ultron looks insanely sharp. Yet another lens to add to my list. :-(
