Keep FA 50 Macro or Trade for DFA 100 WR Macro

I currently have an opportunity to trade my FA 50mm macro (excellent mechanically, cracked distance scale window) for a new DFA 100mm macro WR + $60 and was wondering if it was worth it or if I should just keep my FA 50. What should I do, please help me decided?

For info I also have my a mint SMC Takumar 100mm F4 macro, so another 100mm macro might be overkill, but I really like the idea of having a WR lens for my K5 because I really like to take images of water droplets after rain storms.

Do it. Sounds like a great deal. And you have my all important blessing.

Down the line if you want a shorter focal length macro, you can pick up a copy of the DA 35 Macro.

I've been in exactly this same situation. I had a FA50 macro and a K135 f2,5 but the latter didn't see much use. Considering that I also have a F50, I decided to witch the 50 macro and the 135 for a DFA 100 macro WR.

I'd say it was a good move, because instead of having three lenses to cover two focal lengths, I now have two lenses covering roughly the same FL.

BUT : macro with the 100mm is much trickier. The FA50 macro is incredibly comfortable for macro work, I've found, because the DOF is broader.

So if you don't have another 50 lens, either drop me a note (I have two that I wish to sell :P ) or possibly keep your 50 macro. On the other hand, if you got 50mm covered, you'll gain a fantastic short tele with WR, quick-shift, a beautiful metal body, and impressive IQ.
