Are you positive you aren't getting motion blur? I've had very good luck using focus peaking in low light, but using a tripod. But also I was around f8-f10 with long exposures.

Very good lens that does focus quickly, and many report this lens seem faster than f2.4 (myself included).

If you want fast, The FA 31/1.8 LTD (expensive), FA 35/2 (out of production but available in Japan), FA 43/1.9 LTD, FA 50/1.4, DA* 55/1.4 and of course the new DA 50/1.8. AF lenses generally af wide open. A lenses also allow you to mf wide open when in the Av mode. That said, one of my favorite all around lens is the DA 35/2.8 LTD.

The FA 35/2 is also available at BH ($475)...
